Duff McArdle BIOOwner of the Hamilton Steelheads
Duff McArdle lives in the rafters of Copps Coliseum. He is known throughout Hamilton for his eccentric behavior : he spends his time watching reruns of Front Page Challenge and drinking brands of beer that no one remembers.
He wants to be remembered as the person who saved hockey in Hamilton, although the Steelheads have lost money seven straight years.
A self-made millionaire, McArdle, 66, began as a slagslopper in Hamilton's steel foundries and has always had a soft spot for his hometown. He has been a great supporter of local charities and is known throughout the financial community as a tough but fair businessman.
Unfortunately, he has listened to his heart more than his head in his dealing with his most cherished charity : keeping the Steelheads afloat in one of the smallest markets in the league.
Duff and his wife Jenny had no children : when she passed away he left most of his business matters in the hands of Colleen Blessed and set up residence in Copps Coliseum.On Power Play, Duff McArdle is played by Gordon Pinsent.
