Lori Alter
BIO
The
beautiful and talented Lori Alter was born in Toronto
and has been
involved in show business most of her life. After touring for many years as the
lead singer of her father's popular band, The Murray Alter Orchestra, she
pursued a career in theatre. Among many other plays, she has performed
in Aspects
of Love (for which she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a musical
and was a runner up with Carol Burnett), West Side Story, The
Right Step, and Young and Alive.
In
1998, Lori had a major decision to make, to either go to London, England
and star in a musical or stay in Canada and star in Power Play. Thankfully
for us, she chose the latter. Since then, she has
guest starred on many popular shows, including Once a Thief, Traders,
and Blue Murder. More recently, she was reunited with fellow Power
Play cast members Caterina Scorsone and Dean McDermott in 1-800-Missing
and with Michael Riley in This Is Wonderland.
Lori has also been part of the movies National Lampoon's Senior Trip,
One Tough Cop, The Cheetah Girls and Avenging Angelo starring Sylvester Stallone.
Lori
just finished filming Anonymous Rex, a Sci -Fi/Fox Movie and Pilot.
Lori's beautiful singing voice,
which was heard often on Power Play, can also be heard in and around Toronto as she sings with a
band and just recently, Lori helped her friend, music artist, and
writer (for Power Play among many other things) Paul Quarrington with his CD and is
considering getting back to her own music, so keep your ears open for more
information.
On Power Play, Lori Alter
plays the role of Renata D'Alessandro
